In accordance with University Policy 1134: University Travel to International and/or Hazardous Locations individuals or groups are not permitted to travel to countries that are subject to the following conditions:
- U.S. Department of State travel advisory levels 3 (Reconsider Travel) or 4 (Do Not Travel); or
- A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Travel Health Notice – Warning Level 3 or higher; or
- State, federal, or province declaration of a “state of emergency” (or similar) warning; or
- Comprehensive economic sanctions
The University Travel Advisory Committee (UTAC) may grant exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis. Travelers must submit an Application for Travel to Hazardous Areas and Countries Under Comprehensive Economic Sanctions at least 30-days prior to travel or as soon as travel is anticipated and complete the International Travel Checklist. This checklist ensures that appropriate planning and preparedness steps are taken in to prior to travel.
UTAC Acceptance Criteria – The UTAC goal is not to prohibit travel to hazardous areas; but to ensure that travelers understand and are prepared to handle hazardous conditions in the area.
